Soft Pastel Chalk Sticks Price: $18.00
This nice set of 64 half stick pastels will provide you with the colors you need
to create art or use on polymer clay. These are compact and nice for travel,
although the are not as soft or saturated as PanPastels.

With a lot of experimentation and a year of tweaking, I have discovered
many mixed media techniques, including the aplication of pastels to
polymer clay. There is a chapter in my book, "Polymer Clay Mixed Media
Jewelry" comtianing a handful of these methods with step
by step photos and instructions.

Basic use is simple, the pastels can be applied or rubbed onto sheets of polymer
clay (I usually use white or translucent Premo! Sculpey). You can texture the
clay with my new embossing plates or rubber stamps using a spritz of water
as the resist, allow the clay to dry then apply the chalks to the raised
areas. The pastels adhere well to the raw clay. Then, you can streth the clay
so that the pattern enlarges and the clay sheet becomes flat again, or leave
the texture as is and use cutter shapes for jewelry etc. Once you have
worked with the pastels (I recommend PanPastels!), you will know how they react
with the clay, how much to use and you will get better at avoiding unwated
chalk dust getting onto the background of the piece.

Flexible Applique Molds
These molds are very flexible and need no release for use with
polymer clay. You can use part of a mold or the entire mold when
making purse appliques for handles, jewelry or collage accents.

SAMPLE BRACELET USING KIT

Jewelry Findings

The quality silver plated bracelet kit pictured above, was used for the "Sicilian Spice"
bracelet (pg. 74) in Shirley's book. It is great for gluing or
soldiering, and you can add polymer clay, glass cabochons, buttons,
glazed paper etc. The 2-piece toggle clasp (easily clasped with one
hand) is antiqued silver plate with a tiny wrapped rope accent.
NOTE: The bracelet kit can be ordered in FOUR custom sizes. The length
listed in the drop down menu is the finished length AFTER the
toggle clasp and three jump rings have already been added. It is
best to order a longer length then needed and simply remove
a loop or disk.

This high quality kit was designed for Shirley's Faux Dichroic Cabochon
Bracelet Workshop. The 2-piece toggle clasp (easily clasped
with one hand) is antiqued silver plate with a tiny wrapped rope
accent. The kit also includes 20 silver plated round jump rings
and 10 silver plated oval jump rings. Clay bracelet
class sample shows how the kit is used.

Price: $2.25 This unique 7" long scarf pin/neck warmer/skirt pin is featured as
an inspiration book project (pg. 10) in Shirley's book. It
is more versatile than a standard kilt pin, as you can add a
long bead on the non-functional pin side, then bend the pin with
pliers. The finish is silvertone. The kit includes enough silver
plated 22g wire for a wrapped bead and to create a spring to cover
the bended area. The three 2" long silver plated head pins can be
beaded with clay or other types of beads. A silver
plated jump ring is used to attach the dangles.
